It is my last year at university (with 10 courses ahead of me) and I know I am in for a big one. However, as a start to university I could not have asked for anything better then arriving back from Europe and being in a better mindset to tackle my degree. This year I have decided that my top priority is my course work, and unlike previous years, will be forgoing my passion for business (or finding a good job).
This change in desire has come about with the change in my attitude towards money. Where before I used to always need to be in a state of control of my finances, and ensure that I was always prepared for any crises. These days I now believe that money factors will work themselves out, and although it is important to be sensible, there is no point stressing over “what could be”.

Being in week three of university already (and in my third day), the workload has already started. Though inline with wanting to tackle this degree and concentrate on university, I am finding myself more engaged with the courses than in previous years. "But it is only the start of the semester..." I hear you say, which is true and I am sure I will loose my enthusiasm at some point. However, I have decided to tackle this semester's workload a little differently than in previous years - a tactic to help keep me focused - and with my new outlook on time management (see previous post), I have a good feeling about this semester.
The Tactic? Well I've decided to open up my education experience to the world. Boring? (Nerd! As my partner would say) Yes, possibly. However, with my interest in social media and my desire to keep on track with my studies, I have come to realise that they can support each other. This tactic is not new, and holds its roots in Open Education. I am a big believer in this movement, and am highly fascinated by the work of Leigh Blackall and James Neill. And even though I am not a lecturer, I don't see why I can not share my learning journey, and help add to the resource of knowledge. Even if these posts go unread, I know they will be a valuable learning resource for myself.

This semester I am undertaking English Grammar (7707), Literature and Law (8140), Cognitive Psychology (7123), and Group Work (6853). Additionally, I will be participating in UC SIFE and am considering The Social Entrepreneurship Project (see Faculty of Business and Government, UC).
